Katie Osterhage is the research coordinator for the SOARING project. This project studies the personal health information management (PHIM) needs and practices of older adults. Findings from this research will assist in the creation of PHIM systems that support health and independence for older adults.

Katie has a BA in Conflict Studies from DePauw University and a MMS in International Health from Uppsala University. Prior to joining NWCPHP, Katie worked with populations in the United States that were disproportionately impacted by HIV. She managed a community based participatory research project that worked to build relationships between urban Native Americans and HIV clinical researchers. Katie has also worked in India on studies related to domestic violence, health services, and reproductive health.
