  • Financial systems development and training
  • Internal review

Joanna has more than 15 years of working in management and accounting positions – and seven years on the fiscal team at I-TECH (International Training & Education Center for Health) in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington.

While at I-TECH, Joanna was involved in creating systems and processes that were instrumental in developing the organizational fiscal strength. She also spent four months as acting Finance Director for I-TECH Tanzania in 2013. While there she worked with the country office management to re-build the finance team and systems. She has worked with different teams on campus at University of Washington. The biggest project was streamlining the Field Advance Reconciliation report process which led to the creation of a new University-wide system for advancing funds to departments working internationally. Joanna also worked with a team from University Internal Audit to develop internal review processes and further travelled with them on their visits to three I-TECH country offices.

Prior to working in global health Joanna worked as a tax accountant and as the executive director of a small orchestra.

Joanna likes to spend her free time playing in the woods with her dog.
