Andy Dannenberg provides content expertise in the area of public health and the built environment. His current research includes a focus on the use of health impact assessments.

He is an Affiliate Professor both in the School of Public Health Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences and in the College of Built Environments Department of Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington. He teaches interdisciplinary courses on healthy community design and on health impact assessment.

Andy is also consultant to and former Team Lead of the Healthy Community Design Initiative in CDC's National Center for Environmental Health, where he works on activities related to the health aspects of community design including land use, transportation, urban planning, and other issues related to the built environment.

He received his MD from Stanford University and his Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
