Alyssa Bosold is a research assistant for the SOARING project. This project studies the personal health information management (PHIM) needs and practices of older adults. Findings from this research will assist in the creation of PHIM systems that support health and independence for older adults.

Alyssa is pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Washington, with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College in Environmental Studies and Globalization Studies, and a minor in Women’s Studies.

Alyssa's previous work experience includes serving as an AmeriCorps member on the Blackfeet Reservation, where she concentrated on capacity building for a teen pregnancy and parenting program. For the past two years, Alyssa worked as a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Public Health Associate, focusing primarily on disease intervention for the TB and STD programs at the Broward County Health Department in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Alyssa has also volunteered with Planned Parenthood for several years in health advocacy and education.
