Scholars gathered with coach during onsite

Today’s public health challenges are complex and ever-changing.

They require leaders and managers to stay current in a range of skill areas to be able to lead multi-sector collaborations for improving health.

In response to these challenging times, NWCPHP is excited to announce the launch of three new courses to support this work.

Drawn from our award-winning Public Health Management Certificate materials, these short courses have all been adapted for staff specializing in program management and other leadership roles but lacking in time to join the year-long certificate program.

Each highly-engaging course is designed to be delivered over eight 90-minute sessions or approximately 12 hours. The material includes a mix of short lectures, practice with practical tools, and group discussions that encourage networking and sharing. The dates and times can be customized to meet your office environment and learning needs.

Systems Thinking
This course introduces participants to a holistic approach to understanding and managing an organization by recognizing the complex network of internal and external elements at play. The interactive material will help learners embrace uncertainty, assess and reflect on the organizational systems we operate in, and find paths forward to create an optimistic and meaningful future.

Fundamentals of Program Evaluation
The course begins by helping you ask good questions about your work to lay the foundation for deeper examination. Each session then builds on the next to help you develop a comprehensive evaluation plan with proven results. The material emphasizes helpful steps and tools to use throughout the program planning, implementation, and data gathering steps, as well as how to communicate your results.

Conflict Management
This course helps learners identify and assess common factors that arise in a wide range of negotiation scenarios. They will then consider and practice how these factors can be applied and adapted to specific negotiations between individuals, organizations, community groups, and in multi-party negotiations.

The current environment of uncertainty can be unsettling. Prepare your team to lead during these times with NWCPHP’s new courses.
