October 6, 2016

In the October session of Hot Topics in Practice, speakers present new evidence and examples about cross-jurisdictional resource sharing among local public health jurisdictions.

Should local health departments share resources and services? It’s a simple question with a nuanced answer, especially because sharing doesn’t necessarily save money. In the October session of Hot Topics in Practice, two thought leaders in this field will present new evidence and examples to help public health leaders consider if cross-jurisdictional resource sharing is right for their agency.

During this one-hour webinar, Gianfranco Pezzino, co-director of the Center for Sharing Public Health Services, will introduce the topic of resource sharing, review examples of where it’s been tried, and provide resources for implementation. Justin Marlowe, financial manager and professor at the University of Washington, will present new findings on some of the existing evidence about the potential efficiencies and cost savings associated with leveraging staff and services.

Register today to explore ideas around resource sharing among agencies and consider whether or not it would work in your area.
