Involving young people in the creation and ownership of health projects that impact their lives is essential to building stronger people and programs. In the February session of Hot Topics in Practice, Jennifer Baker, Adolescent Health Project Coordinator for the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, shares tested strategies for getting and keeping youth engaged in prevention efforts.

In this one-hour webinar, Baker will review how programs can follow best practices and overcome common challenges to develop more youth-driven programs, sharing examples from violence and pregnancy prevention initiatives. She will also discuss how their program’s engagement activities are exposing young people to public health approaches for problem solving and encouraging them to follow careers in the field.
