Change, change, and more change—it's been the only constant in public health during the last few years. With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, leaders need to build new skills, develop leadership competencies, and cultivate new perspectives, in order to manage change, effectively engage new partners, and facilitate collaboration across programs and sectors.

Northwest Public Health Leadership Institute alumni (2001–2014) are invited to participate in an exclusive training opportunity for continuing leadership development, Leading and Managing Change: Essential Skills for Continuing Leadership Development. This training includes an orientation conference call, webinar, and on-site session, with coursework focused around a public health case study.

Dates:

  • December 5, 2014, 10–11 a.m. (PT)
Conference call to orient those new to problem-based learning.
  • December 12, 2014, 10–11:30 a.m. (PT)
90-minute webinar to introduce a case study on a current public health issue and assign roles and responsibilities to each participant.
  • January 9, 2015, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (PT)
All day, on-site session where participants will finish and present results of their case study, listen to a panel of speakers on topics associated with public health leadership, participate in small group discussions about leadership, and practice new skills for managing change. Held at the Washington Department of Health Olympia offices.
