Call for Authors: Northwest Public Health

The spring/summer 2011 edition of Northwest Public Health will focus on cross-border issues.

December 15, 2010

Folded MapThe spring/summer 2011 edition of Northwest Public Health will focus on cross-border issues. Four of our six Northwest states border Canada, and all of our states have jurisdictional and tribal borders. Borders can also be defined in less tangible ways. Sometimes, borders are invisible barriers between populations or cultures.

The journal is published by the University of Washington School of Public Health to inform the public health community about current issues and to promote an exchange of ideas. It is a peer-reviewed journal written in plain language for a nonacademic audience.

Manuscripts should be submitted by January 31, 2011. A two-page article runs about 1,300 words and can include photos and other illustrations. Papers should focus on regional issues. Both solicited and unsolicited articles must be consistent with the journal's style (applying research to practice) and appropriate for our audience (public health practitioners).

Please contact the managing editor, Kathy Hall, to discuss your proposed submission. Back issues and author guidelines are on the journal's website.
