Idaho

Idaho has five federally-recognized tribes, and there are nine languages spoken. According to the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board, 35,385 American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) individuals were living in Idaho in 2010, making up about 2.3% of the state’s population.12 In 2010, the median age for the AI/AN population in the state was 28.6 years compared to 37.3 years for non-Hispanic Whites.

Ada County, which includes Boise, has the largest number of AI/AN in the state.
