In this one-hour Hot Topics webinar, which is part of the Hot Topics series, Maryanne Blake, MLS, and Gail Kouame, MLS, librarians with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, share a sampler of quality information resources relevant to the disaster planning and response workforce. From the Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders (WISER), to MedlinePlus, a consumer health portal site, the National Library of Medicine has a wealth of free information resources public health practitioners can use.

Presenters

Maryanne Blake, MLS, Outreach/Evaluation Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region, gives presentations, demonstrations, classes and workshops on the use of the Internet and National Library of Medicine resources. She has been with the Regional Medical Library (RML) for twelve years. Prior to coming to the NN/LM PNR Ms.

Gail Kouame, MLS, is the consumer health coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region. Ms. Kouame’s focus is specifically on facilitating delivery of quality health information to the public through collaboration with: academic, hospital, and community libraries; health agencies and organizations; as well as community organizations, health advocacy groups, health ministries, and other mechanisms.
