Mass fatality incidents are not something that traditional emergency responders or health care professionals often care to dwell on, but developing fatality management infrastructure is critical for local jurisdictions. They must include a multi-disciplinary approach. Not only is it important to identify and return the dead to their families, it is also imperative to use the best practices to protect our workers in the aftermath of such an event. In this one-hour Hot Topics webinar, which is part of the Hot Topics series, Marty Luna, D-ABMDI, coroner for Laramie County, Wyoming, provides insight into these and other fatality management priorities.

Presenter

Marty Luna, D-ABMDI, is the coroner for Laramie County, Wyoming. He previously served as the strategic planning administrator for the Denver Department of Safety Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI). Prior to joining Denver UASI, Marty was a training coordinator and instructor for Texas A&M University System’s Emergency Services Training Institute in the Weapons of Mass Destruction Incident Management Program facilitating training for emergency responders in the management of terrorist events.
