What is SmartPH?

SmartPH is Washington public health’s learning management system (LMS). It is a Web-based service that provides a way to administer, deliver, and track training and education functions. Using SmartPH allows you to track all of your training (including online, in-person, Hot Topics, etc.) in one place. SmartPH maintains a transcript for you with the list of all the courses you've completed. Registering for Hot Topics or any other course shouldn’t take long once you’ve created a SmartPH account.

Currently, licenses for the SmartPH system are only available for Washington Department of Health (DOH), Local Health Jurisdictions, and Tribal Health. However, if you do not fall into one of these categories, you can still register for Hot Topics. Please read on for further instructions.

How do I register for Hot Topics?

If you work for:

  • Washington DOH
  • Local Health Jurisdictions
  • Tribal Health

Follow these instructions to register through SmartPH.

If you do not work for one of the above, email nwcphp@u.washington.edu and we will add you to our registration list.

If you would like to register a viewing location that other participants could join, follow these instructions to register using the Washington Public Health Training Network (WAPHTN) online registration system.
