Description
Have you ever wanted help preparing slide presentations for various audiences? Have you wondered how to display public health data or other information? If so, this online, interactive presentation is for you. The session will cover foundational presentation design principles from the book slide:ology by Nancy Duarte of Duarte Design, the company that developed Al Gore’s slides for An Inconvenient Truth. When you’re done with the session, you’ll look at your presentation from a new vantage point and will be able to “see” how to design your next presentation. This session will include critiques of real slide sets by Hot Topics attendees.

Presenter
Principal of Duarte Design since 1990, Nancy Duarte passionately pursues the presentation development and design niche. One of the largest design firms in Silicon Valley and listed as a top woman-owned business in the area, Duarte Design is one of the few agencies in the world focused solely on presentations, whether they are delivered for projection, online or devices. Nancy’s twenty years of experience working with global companies and thought leaders has influenced the perception of some of the world’s most valuable brands and many of humanity’s common causes. In 2008 she released the book slide:ology—The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations where her experience was distilled into best practices for visual business communicators.
