Tuesday, November 13, 2007; 12:00-1:00pm (Pacific)
Description
The threat of terrorism continues to present challenges and concerns in public health preparedness. In this online, interactive session Captain Holly Shenefelt will discuss the role of the National Guard’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team (WMD-CST) in preparing for and responding to terrorism. Capt. Shenefelt will present stories from the field in Wyoming, where the 84th Civil Support Team was certified earlier this year. She will explain the role of the WMD-CST, which exists in every state and U.S. territory, and describe the relationships it fosters with state and local public health departments and local responders. She will highlight the teamwork that has allowed various organizations and institutions in Wyoming to come together to protect the public from potential harm.
