Carl Osaki has worked in the field of public health for over 30 years. He is retired from the Seattle-King County Department of Public Health where he was Chief of the Environmental Health Division. He was the 1997-1998 Chair of the Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials (WSALPHO) and is currently a Member of the Washington State Board of Health.
As a Clinical Associate Professor of Environmental Health, he teaches Environmental Health Practice and manages a CDC-funded project to assist local and state health departments in integrating the Essential Public Health Services into environmental health practice.
