Course Developer and Design Team Information
Carl Osaki has worked in the field of public health more than 30 years. He is retired from the Seattle-King County Department of Public Health where he was chief of the Environmental Health Division. He chaired the Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials (WSALPHO) in 1997-1998 and currently serves on the Washington State Board of Health.
As a clinical associate professor of Environmental Health, he
teaches Environmental Health Practice and manages a CDC-funded project to assist
local and state health departments to integrate the essential public health
services into environmental health practice.
Design Team Members
Betty Bekemeier, MPH, MSN, is deputy director of the Turning Point National Program Office at the University of Washington, School of Public Health & Community Medicine.
Greg Smith, is the former diirector of the Washington Electronic Disease Surveillance System (WEDSS), Washington State Department of Health.
Charles Treser, MPH, senior lecturer and associate program director of the Undergraduate Program in the Department of Environmental Health at the University of Washington.
