Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department, WA
During the Round One pilot phase of PPHR (winter 2004), NWCPHP participated as a partner with the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department (DPHSS), in Washington State.
- Worked with Thurston County DPHSS and Washington State Department of Health translate and link the Bioterrorism and Emergency Readiness Competencies into useful training and planning projects.
- Provided an emergency preparedness needs assessment tool to support an assessment of the training needs of Thurston County's public health employees. The tool was also used by 5 of the 12 Project Public Health ready pilot sites across the US.
- Provided a preliminary outline for mapping the emergency preparedness and bioterrorism competencies to the categories in the assessment tool.
- Provided the final mapping tool for mapping the competencies to the assessment questions.
- Analyzed needs assessment data.
- Developed a report on the findings.
- Assisted in developing a Thurston County DPHSS Emergency Preparedness Training Plan based on this Training Plan Template.
