Public Health - Seattle and King County, Washington
NWCPHP worked in partnership with Public Health - Seattle and King County (PHSKC) staff, including the preparedness division leadership, overall clinic operations manager, individual clinic directors, and several other community health services personnel, to design and carry out full-scale drills at two of the nine county public health clinics. Specific assistance and activities included:
- Participation on planning committees to assist with setting goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Consultation upon request from the other seven clinics who had not yet begun planning for their exercise.
- Review of "mini-drills" developed by PHSKC that were used for training prior to the full-scale drill. (Mini-drills included a supplies scavenger hunt, ICS overview, testing the emergency call down list, operationg communications devices, etc.)
- Full-scale drill scenario development
- Customization of full-scale drill plans (bomb threat and earthquake scenarios) for two clinics and production of generic template versions with instructions for the remaining clinics.
- Creation and set up of props for drill.
- Development, distribution, collection, and analysis of pre- and post-drill surveys.
- Development of post-drill debriefing session.
- Summary report of survey data and recommendations based on drill observations.
