What Is Public Health Systems and Services Research?

NWCPHP conducts public health systems and services research in order to improve common practices based on evidence.

Public health systems and services research examines and improves common practices in public health using data, the application of research techniques, and the development of evidence.

Public health systems and services research investigates the large internal systems governing public health operations, including the agency's organization, structure, financing, delivery of services, and means of communication. Public health systems and services research is an evidence-based analysis of these, and other, over-arching elements supporting the functions of public health agencies.

The ultimate goal is the creation of a more cohesive public health industry equipped with information to implement efficient and effective agency systems, which results in improved health in our communities.
