Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board
The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB) was formed in 1972 as a nonprofit tribal advisory organization that represents Northwest tribes on health-related matters and provides health-related technical assistance.
The NPAIHB represents 43 federally recognized tribes in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Tribal governments appoint a delegate to represent them on the Board of Directors of the NPAIHB. Current projects include the Northwest Tribal Cancer Control Project, the Western Tobacco Prevention Project, the Northwest Tribal Recruitment Project, the Women's Health Promotion Program, and the Northwest Tribal Epidemiology Center.
