Wyoming Public Health Video
They Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) has adopted a new means of recruiting and maintaining the crucial Wyoming public health workforce this year.
"Who We Are: People, Programs, and Passion" was released at the end of 2009 and is still available. The DVD is approximately 20 minutes long and showcases different components of working for public health in
Wyoming, including the robust activities for people who love spending time in the outdoors.
The DVD presents a very tight-knit group of public health professionals, who work together to improve the lives of others. Included with the DVD is "the ten values that make us who we are." WDH describes them as:
1. Values and Integrity
2. Commitment
3. Teamwork
4. Pride
5. Acceptance of Change
6. Outstanding Customer Service
7. Open and Honest Communication
8. Conflict Resolution
9. Celebrations to Support Values
10. Concern for People
WDH further explains that "a clear understanding of our philosophy enhances and improves the work we do for Wyoming's citizens by promoting a culture centered on service, fiscal accountability, and concern for healthcare issues. This culture helps us think carefully about our decisions, how they affect those we serve, and how we can improve the care we deliver."
This DVD was partially funded by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), through the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice (NWCPHP).
