"then & now" Wins Award
July 7, 2010
NWCPHP's then & now monthly postcard series has won an award of excellence for one-of-a-kind publications in the annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) competition.* The then & now series celebrates the vast array of accomplishments in public health during the past 20 years in our region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming).
This year, 3,711 entries were submitted to the competition. From these, 1,132 entries were given an Award of Excellence. One hundred Grand Awards were given, often to organizations with significant marketing and communications budgets. Among the Grand Award winners in the one-of-a-kind category were Purina One, Super Bowl XLIV Program, and the Children’s Health Fund.
The APEX judges reported that they were impressed this year with the quality and creativity of the entries from organizations that, due to limited budgets, had to inexpensively produce media projects. The then & now series is one of the many projects NWCPHP has undertaken to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
