Regional Network Steering Committee Meeting
Meeting the Needs of the Region
NWCPHP utilizes valuable input from the practice community to make sure to meet public health practice needs. With this in mind, NWCPHP meets twice per year with a Regional Network Steering Committee. NWCPHP's Regional Network Steering Committee comprises representatives of public health in each of the six northwest states and the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board. The Regional Network Steering Committee will be meeting in Seattle on March 18 & 19, 2010.
The Regional Network Steering Committee serves as a primary source of feedback for NWCPHP activities, particularly for curriculum and training development. In addition to analyzing current workforce trends and challenges, the Regional Network Steering Committee shares workforce development resources, delivers numerous public health training events, helps expand distance learning capacity to meet the needs of busy practitioners, and collaborates on training and planning activities. NWCPHP provides some funding to the partner agencies to support the achievement of each state's workforce development goals.
The collaborative nature of the Regional Network Steering Committee has helped to foster a diverse and growing range of activities within each state and across the region and NWCPHP looks forward to another engaging forum.
