Changing Environments and Population Health (US and Canada)

Make your reservations now for the annual joint meeting of the University of Washington / University of British Columbia / Simon Fraser University Occupational, Environmental & Public Health Conference at the Semiahmoo Resort. This meeting is a great opportunity to get together with our cross border colleagues to discuss current health and safety, research, and practice issues. This is an “intimate” conference – small enough to allow conversations between researchers and students from both sides of the border.

Program Highlights:

  • David Bates Memorial Lecturer: Dr. Kirk Smith, University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Kirk is internationally renowned for his work on indoor air quality and biomass burning.
  • Health economist Dr. Bob Evans will give a talk on Friday afternoon.
  • Built Environment Plenary session and breakout sessions on Aboriginal Health, Social Determinants of Health, Infectious Diseases and Innovations in Education.

The focus of January 5 and 6 will be on Environmental Health and will feature Dr. Kirk Smith from the University of California at Berkeley. The Public Health portion will take place on January 6 and 7 and will feature health economist Dr. Bob Evans. Attendees can register for the full conference or for part of the conference (the environmental health or public health portion).
