The Northwest Center for Public Health Practice and the Department of Urban Design and Planning invite you to attend the second monthly meeting of the Seattle Healthy Places Research Group (HPRG). This group welcomes public health and planning faculty, researchers, students, practitioners, and others interested in exploring the relationship between the built environment and the health of communities.
The design of the built environment, including land use and transportation decisions, affects health in many ways, including its impacts on physical activity, air quality, motor vehicle and pedestrian injuries, social capital, mental health, and environmental justice (see www.cdc.gov/healthyplaces).
HPRG sessions provide opportunities for participants to discuss common interests and to hear a presentation relevant to healthy community design. Suggestions for future speakers are welcome.
RSVP is not necessary. For further information, please contact Dr. Andrew Dannenberg at acd7@cdc.gov.
