Urban Planners and Public Health Professionals Working Together to Promote Health and Equity
Kadie Bell Sata currently works at Public Health - Seattle & King County as a grant manager on the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant serving local jurisdictions on their healthy policy and planning efforts. She holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington and is an affiliate instructor for the University's School of Public Health. Additional highlights include professional membership with the American Institute of Certified Planners and her appointment by Mayor McGinn to the Seattle Planning Commission.
Julie West is the Program Manager for Public Health - Seattle & King County's Built Environment and Land Use Program. The focus of her work is to create strategies to ensure that land use and transportation choices impact our environment and our residents' health in a positive way. The issues are considered in a holistic manner in order to create solutions that meet the needs of the community, have broad impacts, and are sustainable. She holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
The Northwest Center for Public Health Practice and the Department of Urban Design and Planning invite you to attend the monthly meeting of the Seattle Healthy Places Research Group (HPRG). This group welcomes public health and planning faculty, researchers, students, practitioners, and others interested in exploring the relationship between the built environment and the health of communities.
