  • Gadgets & Gizmos for Public Health, Tara Melinkovich and Missie Thurston
With the advent of new technologies, you need to know when and how to use them.  This session will provide guidelines for effective uses for tweeting, Facebook, YouTube, blogs, texting and web conferencing. After completing this course participants will have a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of these tools.
  • Preparing for Local Health Department Accreditation, Bud Nicola
This session will provide an overview of the proposed new voluntary accreditation system for local and state health departments established by the public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). • Approaching Quality Improvement in Public Health, Bud Nicola and Lynda Muriera

Quality improvement processes give information about governmental public health organizations that will not only satisfy accountability demands, but also improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public health workers and agencies. Participants will review many existing quality improvement and tools including: PDCA: Performance Management Self-Assessment too; many individual QI tools, and Public Health Ready.
