NWCPHP offers a number of online courses that can be taken on demand. “Public health professionals need flexibility when it comes to training,” notes Luann D’Ambrosio, Assistant Director of NWCPHP. “Our modules provide the just-in-time training that is so critical in today’s public health environment.”

Not only are the online modules convenient to take, but they are underwritten by grants and are offered at no cost to participants.

More than 8,000 public health professionals have taken these online modules approximately 13,500 times since NWCPHP first began making them in 2004. NWCPHP now has 30 online modules available on multiple subjects. Although trainees primarily live in the United States, almost 10 percent of professionals taking our online modules are based overseas.

The majority of people taking NWCPHP trainings are white (61 percent) and female (71 percent). The highest concentration of users is between 20-29 years of age (30 percent). Slightly over a third of persons taking the online modules identify themselves as students. Nurses working in clinical settings make up the second largest group of trainees.
