Summer Institute: Just Around the Corner

Registration for the 19th annual Summer Institute for Public Health Practice is open.

Are you looking for skills development? How about meeting with colleagues from around the region? Or hearing from regional and national public health leaders?

You have a few days left  to register for a week filled with courses specifically designed for today's public health practitioner and top-notch plenary sessions with Judy Monroe from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Christopher Murray from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.

Registration for the 19th annual Summer Institute for Public Health Practice is open.


The Summer Institute is August 9–13, 2010 on the University of Washington campus in Seattle. The Northwest Center for Public Health Practice has held the Summer Institute for Public Health Practice annually for the past 19 years.

Available Courses:

  • Basic Epidemiology
  • Health Communication
  • Implementing Program Planning & Evaluation
  • Public Health Leadership & Management


Participants are invited to the University of Washington Club on Monday evening from 5–7pm to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice and 20 years of public health work throughout the region. Visit with past directors, leaders, and practitioners about the history and future of public health, while enjoying hors d'oeuvres overlooking Lake Washington.
