Like much of the country, King County, Washington experienced an outbreak of H1N1 influenza in April of 2009. This outbreak has provided many health departments with important information about what public health services and actions went well during the outbreak and what could be improved.

Like much of the country, King County, Washington experienced an outbreak of H1N1 influenza in April of 2009. This outbreak has provided many health departments with important information about what public health services and actions went well during the outbreak and what could be improved.

Public Health - Seattle & King County analyzed data from reported laboratory-confirmed 2009 H1N1 influenza A and a surveillance system that records population-based data about influenza-like illness based on chief complaint diagnosis at emergency departments.

The resulting report, Spring 2009 H1N1 Influenza Outbreak in King County, Washington, gives a basic overview of how the spring 2009 H1N1 influenza outbreak affected different populations within King County's diverse 1.9 million people.
