NWCPHP’s Project Planning course has won a Grand Award in the 27th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) competition. APEX is nationwide program that recognizes excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and communications effectiveness in a variety of media.

Out of more than 1,600 entries, only 86 were selected to receive a Grand Award, which is the highest recognition the APEX judges can present. The Project Planning course won in the “Electronic Media – Education & Training” category.

NWCPHP's Project Planning course offers a method and a set of steps to help jumpstart the planning process. For students and new public health professionals, it provides an introduction to the fundamentals of planning a successful project. For experienced project planners, it offers reminders, tips, and a framework to help planning go smoothly.

On the APEX Grand Award web page, one of the judges commented: “If you’re a public health professional, you’ll want to try this superb, thoroughly researched, engaging project planning course. (We especially liked the illustration showing what happens to a PERT chart when things don’t turn out as planned!) The course is clear, well organized, with every possible link or additional resource you could imagine—all presented in a very easy to understand, intuitive format. Absolutely top drawer. And it’s free!”
