Here is your chance to attend the 2011 Summer Institute for Public Health Practice at one-third of the cost.

July 12, 2011

Do you want to register for the NWCPHP Summer Institute for Public Health Practice, but are limited by budget constraints? Here is your chance to attend at one-third of the cost.

The National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) of the Pacific Northwest Region is currently offering Professional Development Awards of up to $1,000. This award would cover two-thirds of the $1500 registration fee.

The NN/LM is focusing these awards on Resource Sharing, Information Science, and Public Health Practice. Their goal in offering them is to expand knowledge and experience among public health professionals to improve the information they provide to health care professionals and consumers. The NWCPHP Summer Institute for Public Health Practice is one of the events eligible for funding with this award.

Applicants must demonstrate how attending the Summer Institute will help achieve the specific goals of the applicant’s institution. Eligibility is open to any NN/LM member of the Pacific Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington). Membership is free and open to institutions that provide health information.

Click here for award application and further details. Don’t wait to apply—registration for the Summer Institute closes August 1!

The NN/LM supports collaboration among regional libraries and information centers to enhance access to health information for health professionals and the public. It is funded by the National Library of Medicine through the US Department of Health and Human Services.
