Will the region's health and public safety providers be ready when disaster strikes? Researchers from the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice and their colleagues at Public Health - Seattle & King County evaluated a series of regional response exercises in King County. Their paper, "Strengthening community partnerships with local public health through regional pandemic influenza exercises" is published in the May/June 2010 issue of Public Health Reports. The researchers found that role-playing exercises increased understanding of the response process among community partners and influenced the County’s planning process.
