With nearly 500 people using NWCPHP’s online learning platform, PH LearnLink, each month and demand growing, the Web and technologies specialists felt it was time for an update. In February, NWCPHP launched a new platform with improved functionality, better access to more than 200 training offerings, and enhanced integration with the NWCPHP website.

“We’re very excited about the change,” said Learning Technologies Specialist Sarah Manchanda, who managed the switchover. “We focused on improvements that make our trainings more visually engaging and easier to access.”

Because public health workers are busy people, convenience and speed were also key considerations when customizing the new system. The new responsive format allows users to more easily access online trainings with smart phones or other mobile devices, and the registration process now requires fewer steps than the previous system. Recorded webinars and online courses are now available from one easy location, with the transfer of 33 online courses to a mobile-friendly format taking place in the coming months.

All these changes mean users can log in from their favorite device and begin learning more quickly.

In addition to the improvements in functionality, the new system offers features to help learners keep track of their accomplishments. Individualized course certificates are now available directly from the course page. Certificates can be generated after completing a course and its evaluation.

Templates and resources for tabletop exercises, which were previously available only on CD-ROM, are now immediately accessible. Learners can read materials online or download the files, which can be edited and customized.

The NWCPHP training team is excited about all the improvements to its online training platform, and hopes that returning as well as new users will be too. Create an account in PH LearnLink and start learning today.

Users who were registered in the old system will need to create a new account. For more information contact Sarah Manchanda.
