Firefighters Face More than Physical Danger

NWCPHP faculty member, Dr. Randy Beaton, will be a plenary speaker at the Firefighter Health and Safety Symposium and speak about Post Traumatic Stress and Psychosocial Factors in Firefighters.

NWCPHP faculty member, Dr. Randy Beaton, has been invited to be a plenary speaker at the Firefighter Health and Safety Symposium held at the University of Cincinnati Environmental Research Center. Dr. Beaton will be speaking about Post Traumatic Stress and Psychosocial Factors in Firefighters.

Dr. Beaton is a Research Professor and Clinical Psychologist in the Psychosocial and Community Health Department of the University of Washington School of Nursing. He is also a Research Adjunct Professor in the Department of Health Services in the University of Washington School of Public Health and a volunteer EMT.

Dr. Beaton has headed NIOSH- and FEMA-funded programs to examine the causes and effects of stress in firefighters and other emergency responders.
