Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett, MD, MPH

Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett provides content expertise in public health leadership, health equity, communicable diseases, and health informatics. He is a former Director of NWCPHP (serving from 2013–2015).

Tao continues to work with NWCPHP in a variety of activities, including as an instructor for the Northwest Public Health Leadership Institute and as co-PI for the Washington State Innovation Model (SIM) Evaluation effort, which is housed at NWCPHP.

Tao has served as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Services at the University of Washington since March 2013. He is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education.

Outside of his academic responsibilities, Tao serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington State Public Health Association.

Tao's career has been a wide-ranging one, including experience in public health, primary care, and global health. He worked for six years as a medical epidemiologist in the communicable disease program at Public Health - Seattle & King County. His education includes an MD from Harvard Medical School and an MPH from the University of Washington.
